The quality of ink that you choose to use is very important for best results. Refilling the HP 02 is simple and can save you hundreds of dollars in a short amount of time. Did you know that when you buy new HP 02 cartridges from HP, that you're spending thousands of dollars per gallon for inkjet ink?
Here's a few points to remember about refilling HP 02 Ink Cartridges:

Absolutely do not let your cartridge completely run out of ink before refilling
Here are the basic steps to refilling the HP 02:
Find the small recessed spot on the top of the cartridge.
Use a small drill bit or drill tool to make a hole on the top of the cartridge in this recessed point. You can also melt a hole with a soldering iron, although a small drill bit will work just fine.
Clean away any excess debris from drilling the hole so you have a nice clean hole to reseal. Make sure that the opening is flat with the surface of the cartridge. A razor knife can come in handy.
Fill a syringe with about 10ml of ink, only use aftermarket inks made for Hp 02's
Fill the cartridge until it is completely full. Don't leave air space in the cartridge.
Make sure the area around the hole is dry by blotting with a paper towel.
Reseal the whole with plugs available online, or with a hot melt glue gun.
Let the cartridge sit for a few moments over a paper towel to check for leaks.
Hp 02 Refilling Tips:
Check the ink level in your cartridges often, if you do alot of printing to make sure that the cartridges don't run dry. This can damage your printer. Refill as soon as you see that they're getting low.
If you do happen to touch the microchip on the cartridge, clean with a pencil eraser.
The quality of ink that you use when refilling your Hp 02's is very important. You should only use inks that are specifically manufactured to replace original Hp Vivera inks.
